Our Head Office - based in Chiswick, West London - forms the linchpin of our entire national operation.

The team here is responsible for all aspects of Vue’s overall management and growth, from the buying and scheduling of films to the building of whole new multiplexes.

All of our cinemas rely on the team here to provide to them with crucial support across a whole range of functions, from film buying and marketing through to HR and IT. The team here, in turn, works in close harmony with managers on the ground to ensure that our business decisions always reflect the view from the front-line.

Vue aspire to be cutting edge, and because we think ahead innovation our offices is no exception. The office is situated in Chiswick Park, an ultra-modern and award winning business centre boasting many on-site facilities including a bar, brasserie, gym, health spa, and hairdressers.

Life is vibrant here. Whether it’s barbecues on long dusky summer evenings or whisky tasting parties on chilly winter nights, we have lots of opportunities to unwind after a hard day’s work.

Audit

The Audit department is a small, predominantly field-based team comprising individuals with a wealth of experience from both film and retail sectors. Widely respected throughout the business, they’re responsible for the financial and operational audits of both our cinemas and Chiswick HQ. Each member gets to work in a proactive, supportive environment where the emphasis is on modern consultative auditing methods rather than the traditional ’tick-and-bash’ approach.


Development & Facilities

As a rapidly evolving business, we’re continually looking to build new cinemas. This in-house department takes care of the entire development process by finding new sites and transforming them into state-of-the-art multiplexes. It’s also responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of our existing property portfolio. The department is thus composed of both accomplished Construction Managers and highly experienced Facilities Managers. Experienced professionals from all backgrounds - including shopping malls, banks and international corporate offices - come to work for this vibrant team.


Film Buying

Vue rents films from the big distributors in order to show them in our cinemas. Film Buying is responsible for negotiating the rental terms of these films and for scheduling them into the cinemas. The team here also works closely with Marketing and Operations to ensure that the latest blockbusters are properly promoted. They’ll regularly attend preview screenings of all forthcoming releases in order to ascertain which will go down well with our target audience and maximise our business. The lucky folks here even get to go to some of the glittering premiers in London’s West End. Not surprisingly, these roles are highly sought after within the industry.

Finance

As a venture capital backed business, we have to keep an especially tight grip over our financial affairs. The Finance Department is thus the largest function in our Chiswick head office. It also offers an excellent environment for those wishing to rapidly advance their careers.

The department is split into four distinct areas:

Business Analysis – a small yet critical team, the people here analyse our revenue streams, make forecasts, monitor the competition and help us identify new business opportunities.

Financial Accounting – the heart and soul of the finance function. Responsible for accurate statistical reporting, VAT and tax returns, and overseeing the fixed asset register. Comprised mainly of qualified accountants with backgrounds in the retail, media and fmcg sectors.

Management Accounting – the team responsible for providing us with critical business information. Though based in Chiswick, they work closely with budget holders at all the various Vue sites. An ideal entry point for part qualified accountants looking for more business exposure.

Accounts Payable – the team here ensures that all supplier invoices are logged and paid promptly. We have a large number of suppliers here at Vue, so expect to be busy from day one in this thriving department.

Human Resources

The HR team has a balance of skilled professionals in the following areas:

  • Recruitment
  • Development and Training
  • Employee Relations and Reward
  • Payroll

The culture of the department is highly dynamic. They’re continually looking for ways in which people strategy can improve business performance. As a result, they often find themselves leading - and not just supporting - change in the business. Furthermore, they frequently act as in-house consultants on a wide variety of issues, including areas as far reaching as planned new site openings and acquisitions. Needless to say, most of the team are professionally qualified.

IT

The IT function here is a small team with a big responsibility. They’re accountable for all our key technical capabilities, including the PC network and the computerised booking and cash-handling systems. Whether its new system servers or new software, the department here chooses and installs everything, which means they have a major impact on the way our business is run. As our technology evolves, the importance of this Chiswick based team can only grow and grow.

Legal & Property

Our Legal team looks afters all legal matters connected to the circuit, including purchasing, renovating and maintaining sites. They also provide essential legal advice on retail and marketing agreements, IT contracts, licensing and insurance. Staffed entirely by qualified legal professionals, this is the perfect team to join if you want to truly refine your commercial skills and experience.

The Property team, by contrast, maintains up-to-date lease and site information and deals with external managing agents and landlords. They work closely with Facilities on new builds and maintaining the existing estate.

Marketing & Corporate Sales

The Marketing department at Vue is responsible for growing market share in site attendance and sales revenue. The team here is involved in the full repertoire of marketing activities, from research and analysis through to promotions and advertising. They’re also closely involved with brand strategy, corporate activity, customer profiling and our web presence. Small, dynamic and innovative, this is a team that gets to work with a great product - blockbuster movies.

The Corporate Sales team support customers who want to use our infrastructure and technology to host an event or product launch. They help clients launch new products ranging from cars to computers through to music DVDs. They are also responsible for the sale of gift cards and our ’at home DVD’ rental business.

Both departments contain a balanced mix of marketing and sales professionals. While many are CIM qualified already, we offer support to members in obtaining this qualification.

Operations

Operations are responsible for the daily running of the business. They implement and sustain business initiatives, policies and processes to ensure the highest standards of customer service. They continuously look to grow the business through new products and services that are centred on the customer.
